A new study comparing two blood-thinning drugs -- Plavix, the most
commonly prescribed blood-thinner, and Prasugrel, a new and more
potent blood-thinner -- found that Prasugrel significantly reduced

However, the good news on the unapproved drug Prasugrel might be
outweighed by the bad news -- the study's finding that the new
anti-clotting drug also carried an increased risk for major bleeding
events, including fatal bleeding.
